Mixing ceramic and alnico V in same system?

Has anyone ever used an alnico 802 HF compression driver with a ceramic motor 16" framed woofer such as a 416-8c together in the same speaker system?

...just interested in whether this is might be considered by some as a mortal sin or not. I think I read somewhere that a few Altec systems came from the factory that way, but I could be wrong.

I've talked with Bill from GPA and he seems to like the ceramic motors because they generally do not need mag re-charging....

Anyway, I've been using many ceramic and many alnico drivers for years, and I cannot tell (hear) any significant differences.

Why would it matter? I don't even understand why you bothered to ask.

Altec did it all the time. The MI VOTT had a 421 ceramic LF and an Alnico high end.

I suggest you Google what's been written about the alnico/ceramic and power compression.
